Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct is our guiding principle in our work. Its aims are to promote good morale and to clarify the responsibilities of employees. The Code of Conduct applies to all employees and covers all company activities, work-related travel, and staff events. It is also intended to highlight the importance of fairness and equality for all stakeholders.

PERSONAL BEHAVIOUR

  • We do our part to create a good workplace culture. Our communication is characterised by positivity, respect, and trust. We are polite and friendly, and we guide each other and share knowledge.
  • We do not discriminate on the basis of sexuality, religion, opinion, ethnic origin, or other individual factors.
  • Bullying, sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, or abuse is not tolerated, and we are wary of such behaviour. If we become aware of it, we report it immediately.
  • In speech and writing, it must be clearly stated whether one is speaking on behalf of ÁTVR or expressing personal opinions. Care should always be taken not to tarnish the image of the company.

EQUALITY

  • We are fair and honest in our dealings with other companies and organisations.
  • We make every effort to ensure excellent service.
  • We are impartial in our service and do not recommend a particular product over another. When consulting, we offer customers a choice of more than one product type whenever possible.

CONFIDENTIALITY

  • We maintain complete confidentiality regarding information about ÁTVR's activities, our colleagues and customers.
  • We respect confidentiality regarding confidential information, even after the end of employment.
  • We handle and preserve all confidential documents so that they are not lost or exposed.
  • We do not post images or other material publicly that may cause harm to the company, our colleagues, or customers.

PROMOTIONS AND GIFTS

  • It is prohibited to manage or directly participate in any kind of promotion of products sold by the company. It is prohibited to participate in paid trips or other events organised by stakeholders.
  • Suppliers are not permitted to promote products in Vínbúðin stores. All staff training on the company's products is carried out by ÁTVR. The CEO, deputy CEO, or managing directors grant exemptions from these rules if applicable.
  • It is not permitted to accept gifts or other rewards from suppliers, customers, or other stakeholders. An exception is made for Christmas or New Year's gifts, where the value is insignificant and the gift is intended for the establishment as a whole.

REPORTING VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES

  • Employees must inform superiors or the CEO of any violations of the Code of Conduct and conflicts of interest related to the company in any way.
  • Serious or repeated violations of the Code of Conduct may result in reprimands and, in some cases, termination.

The Code of Conduct must be presented to employees at the start of their employment. It is also accessible at www.vinbudin.is.

The Code of Conduct is valid from 1 October 2023
