Þorgerður Kristín Þráinsdóttir has been appointed the new CEO of ÁTVR, starting on September 1st. The announcement was published on the website of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, where it was noted that Þorgerður was selected from a group of nineteen applicants.

Þorgerður has served as CEO of the Fríhöfnin Duty Free store since 2014, and previously worked at Lyfja hf., as Director of Stores and Marketing and Human Resources Manager. She has a B.A. and Cand.Psych. degree in psychology, with an emphasis on work and organizational psychology. She has also completed PMD management studies as well as numerous courses related to management and strategy.
