All stores will be closed on the Ascension Day on Thursday 26 May. On Wednesday, May 25th, most our Vínbúðin stores will open as on Fridays. All stores in the capital area will therefore be open from 11-19, but our stores at Dalvegur, Skeifa and Skútuvogur are open from 10-20.

Today we opened a new store at Miðvangur 13 in Egilsstaðir (near Bónus, A4 and Lindex). The new store is considerably more spacious than before and the product range has been significantly expanded. Also, all facilities are considerably better than at the previous location, both for customers and staff.

The seasonal Summer-beer is now available in all Vínbúðin stores. In our webshop you can see the availability of Summer beer each time. These seasonal beers will be for sale until August 31st 2020.

All our stores will be closed on the first day of summer, Thursday April 21st. We will have longer opening hours on Wednesday April 20th, but then most stores will be open as on Fridays.

All Vínbúðin stores will be closed on Holy Thursday (April 14th), Good Friday (April 15th), Easter Sunday (April 17th) and Easter Monday (April 18th). We advice our customers to avoid rush hours and shop timely for the Easter holiday. It's best to shop early in the week and early in the day.

ÁTVR has decided not to appeal the decision of the Reykjavík District Court on the dismissal of cases that were filed with the aim of stopping the sale of alcohol in domestic online stores. ÁTVR considers that it is not in accordance with the law, violates ÁTVR's monopoly and is in direct opposition to the current alcohol- and public health policy, but the district court dismissed the cases.

ÁTVR has decided to appeal to the National Court the ruling of the Reykjavík District Court, which was announced on 19 March in the cases of ÁTVR against Bjórland ehf. and against Arnar Sigurðsson, Sante ehf. and Santewines SAS. ÁTVR considers it appropriate to obtain the opinion of the Court of Appeal on the issues on which the dismissal of the cases is based.
