Cycling Certifications for workplaces were awarded for the first time in Iceland in the Reykjavik City Hall on Tuesday, September 20th.
The certification is a way to effectively implement an improved cycling culture. Workplaces are encouraged to improve cycling facilities for both customers and employees, which hopefully leads to more people selecting environmentally friendly and healthy means of transportation in everyday life.

October seasonal beer is now available at Vínbúðin. There are 11 types of October beer this year.

Districts on the Westfjords have worked together on the project to promote a plastic bag-free society and aim to be mostly Carrier bag-free in 2017. Vínbúðin encouragages customers to select reusable and offers three different types of reusable bags.

All Vínbúðin stores will be closed on Monday 1. August due to Commerce day. This is one of the busiest weekends in Vínbúðin. Most of the customers arrive on Friday between 16-18, or up to 6.500 customers per hour. Every effort is made to assist the customers to avoid long lines and those that want to avoid the lines are encouraged to be timely.
