Vínbúðin has for several years now encouraged customers to reduce the use of plastic bags by offering a wide range of multi-use bags at affordable prices. In 2018, around 29% of customers bought plastic bags and the sales of plastic bags have declined considerably in recent years.

Vinbudin in Selfoss has now moved to new location at Larsenstræti 3. The store is now bigger and brighter with a significantly bigger walk-in cooler. The new store is very accessible and has plenty of parking spaces.

Due to Commerce Day all stores will be closed on monday, August 5th. The weekend before Commerce Day is usually one of the most busy weekends of the year and most of our customers are shopping between 16:00 and 18:00. So for those who want to avoid long lines, it's good to be timely.

ÁTVR has set itself an environmental policy, founded on respect for the environment, and the efficient and responsible use of assets and resources. Improvements are constantly being made to meet environmental requirements. Carbon offsetting is therefore an important part of ÁTVR's social responsibility and sustainability.

Vínbúðin in Reykjanesbær has now been renovated and the store has all been given a considerable facelift. The store and cooler is now bigger and all interiors were renewed. The staff facilities were also significantly improved.

All Vinbudin stores will be closed on monday June 17th on The National day of Iceland.

All stores will be closed on the Ascension Day on Thursday 30 May. On Wednesday, May 29th, all our Vínbúðin stores will open as on Fridays. All stores in the capital area will therefore be open from 11-18, but our stores at Dalvegur, Skeifa and Skútuvogur are open from 9-20.

The store in Reykjanesbær is being renovated. The layout of the store is being changed completely and the product selection increased. The store will be open for most of the renovation time, to disrupt service as little as possible, but it will be closed for two days; Monday May 20th and Monday May 27th. The renovatins will end in the beginning of June.
