Vodka from Russia off the shelves

01.03.2022

Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, there have been a pressure of withdrawing Russian goods. Alcohol sales in the Nordic countries have already stopped the sale of Russian products. In Iceland, there is no legal authority for such unilateral decisions and the approval of suppliers is therefore required. Vínbúðin's product portfolio contained five product numbers of Russian vodka. Four are from Russian Standard and one from Beluga Noble. Vínnes ehf. has now, in collaboration with ÁTVR, decided to withdraw Russian Standard product, and they will all be removed from the shelves of Vínbúðin until otherwise decided. As for now there is no approval from Beluga Noble suppliers to take that product off the market.
