The offices and distribution center of Vínbúðin received earlier this year acknowledgement from The Green steps project for having completed all five green steps.

Yesterday Vínbúðin  Heiðrún received acknowledgement for having completed two steps of five, but the staff will of course continue to work on the next steps. The goal is that all 50 Vínbúðin stores implement the five green steps, but Vínbúðin in Hveragerði and Akranes have already completed the first two.

Vínbúðin is also a part of a group of companies that have signed a joint statement of intent on climate change. The diverse group of companies each in their own way intends to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce waste in its operations, so it certainly goes hand in hand with the Green steps project.
