Vínbúðin has now discontinued the use of brown disposable paperbags intended for one bottle. This is a way of making Vínbúðin even more environmentally friendly, and supports our goal of leading the way in environmental responsibility.

Vínbúðin sold over 41 thousand reusable shopping bags last year, increasing sales by 27% between years. In the past three years, around 109,000 reusable shopping bags have been sold and it‘s clear that customers are very concerned about reducing disposable packaging. Sales of plastic bags have also decreased significantly between years. In 2017, the number of customers was over 4.9 million and the sale of plastic bags was 1.5 million.
