ÁTVR recently signed a declaration to take action on climate change along with 103 other icelandic companies and organizations. The goal with the declaration is to reduce greenhouse gas emission and waste.
Reykjavik and Festa, a center for corporate social responsibility, hosted an event for the signing which marked the formal launch of the project. The main emphasis is to give companies incentive to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as to demonstrate their responsibility towards the environment and society.
A climate summit will be held in Paris in December where the United Nations Framework Convention for Climate Change (UNFCCC) will be approved. The main goal in the summit is to fight global warming by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Further information on the project is available on the website of City of Reykjavík and Festa.
